Bank of America knocked PayPal from its perch as the No. 1 most downloaded financial services app this week. BoA’s app was updated Sept. 21,  just two days after iOS6, the iPhone’s newest operating system.

Newcomer iCard Keeper, an app for checking gift card balances, landed at the No. 8 spot, while the rest of the Top 10 held steady.

Here’s this week’s Top 20 Finance Apps for the iPhone, according to AppShopper. Numbers in parentheses indicate movement over past week:

1. Bank of America Mobile (+2)
2. PayPal (-1)
3. Chase Mobile (-1)
4. Wells Fargo Mobile (0)
5. Mint.com (0)
6. Capital One Mobile (0)
7. American Express (0)
8. iCard Keeper (-)
9. Credit Karma Mobile (-1)
10. USAA Mobile (-1)
11. BMO Harris Mobile (-)
12. Discover Mobile (-1)
13. Citi Mobile (-3)
14. Yahoo! Finance (0)
15. Barclaycard (+1)
16. U. S. Bank (-4)
17. Quicken Money Management (0)
18. PNC Mobile Banking (0)
19. Lemon Wallet (-6)
20. Fidelity Investments (-5)

Bank of America’s updated app has received mixed reviews in the App Store, but that hasn’t hurt its popularity. It becomes just the second app to beat out PayPal as most downloaded app since Bank Innovation began recording app downloads on Sept. 7.

Lemon Wallet, which suffered the biggest fall for the second straight week, dropping six spots to land at No. 19, held the No. 1 spot just three weeks ago.

Fidelity Investments, U. S. Bank, and Citi Mobile all suffered significant drops this week, while Barclaycard was the only Top 20 app beside Bank of America to rise in the rankings this week. It stands at No. 15. BMO Harris Mobile, a newcomer to the Top 20, holds the No. 11 spot. The app was down from Oct. 6-9 for maintenance.

The greatest rise in the Top 20: Bank of America
