Capital One made progress during the weekend as it worked to restore outages that started Jan. 15, caused by technical issues with third-party tech vendor FIS.

“We have restored full account functionality and processed outstanding transactions for most of our customers and are completing work to restore full service to all of our customers as soon as possible,” a bank spokesperson told Bank Automation News Saturday.

The bank took to social media platform X to share weekend updates.

Account functionality for all customers is now restored. We sincerely apologize for how frustrating this experience has been. We are committed to making it right. We encourage customers to check their accounts online and contact us for any support. pic.twitter.com/n9yxsUliWO

FIS systems had experienced an outage and a hardware failure, attributed to a local power outage in Jacksonville, Fla., on Jan. 15, the tech provider shared in a statement on Monday.

Affected clients, including Capital One, are back to processing business as normal, FIS said.
