Avant, a fintech that provides access to loans and credit cards, has deployed Replicant’s AI voice agent to streamline customer service and enhance data-driven decisions.
The voice agent, which Avant built in partnership with fintech Replicant, handles inbound credit-card queries, according to a May 5 release. Avant had been piloting the agent since January, and it now resolves 62% of interactions without human intervention, the release states.
The agent can resolve common queries, such as checking balances, making payments and requesting account information, Avant Chief Operating Officer Margaret Hermes told FinAi News.
Further, the agent’s ability to collect and summarize interaction data allows Avant “to take a step back and better understand what is the context for that call, based on all the other data that we have about the customer,” she said.

Hermes said this enables the fintech to:
- Better identify friction points;
- Improve products and services;
- Identify staffing and training needs; and
- Enrich its proprietary data platform, CreditOS.
For Avant, the data layer for the voice agent is “just as valuable as automation,” Hermes said.
The company expects that Replicant’s platform will help it “not just maintain our current compliance posture, but actually enhance it over time,” she said. The COO cited data security and regulatory knowledge as key reasons for choosing Replicant as its conversational AI provider .
Other adopters of Replicant’s AI voice platform include financial services firms JG Wentworth, National Debt Relief, ESCI and Americor, according to Replicant.
Setting the stage
Avant plans to expand its use of the voice agent into other customer service areas and undertake other enterprisewide AI initiatives to boost efficiency, Hermes said.
The company is positioned to expand AI use after spending 2025 “building the underlying infrastructure to enable more customer-facing and scalable tooling from a gen AI perspective,” she said.
“That means an AI-first culture with a multi-LLM strategy,” she said. “We embedded gen AI across our tech org. We implemented a data platform that has unified data access and enables natural language queries. … The voice agent is really just one proof point of a broader program that we have in place.”
