Citi announced the appointment of David Griffiths as group head of AI.
“As AI continues to transform how we serve clients and run the firm, this move brings clearer focus and acceleration to our AI strategy by unifying our end-to-end AI operating model across business and technology,” Chief Operating Officer Anand Selva said in a May 5 LinkedIn post.
Griffiths moves into his new role from his position as chief technology officer for the bank, according to LinkedIn. He has been with Citi since 2012.
“As chief technology officer, David has played a critical role in modernizing our technology and scaling AI capabilities, making him uniquely positioned to lead in this next chapter,” Selva said.
The appointment follows the April announcement that Brian Saluzzo was named chief information officer of the $2.78 trillion bank.
“Our new organization unites technology and operations under a single, unified AI mandate,” Griffiths said in a LinkedIn post.
Citi’s Investor Day, featuring bank executives, is set for May 7.
