SAN DIEGO — Trinity Bank is set to deploy BioCatch, an AI-driven behavioral biometric platform, to strengthen fraud prevention across its digital banking channels.

The $550 million Fort Worth, Texas-based bank plans to go live with the solution within weeks, following an extended testing period in which the system operated in the background to learn customer behavior, Bobby Evartt, senior vice president of information technology at Trinity Bank, told FinAi News this week at Alkami Co:lab 2026.

BioCatch, a partner fintech of Alkami, will add a layer of protection focused on monitoring how users interact with the bank’s mobile and online platforms, Evartt said. The system analyzes behavioral patterns, such as login habits, typing speed and transaction behavior, to flag anomalies that could indicate fraud, he added.

BioCatch is a machine learning solution, Matt Wilson, vice president of customer experience operations and strategy at Alkami, told FinAi News.

“There’s actually a learning period specific to that financial institution,” he said. “BioCatch actually decides, is this a normal behavior for the user based on everything we know about them.”

Unlike traditional fraud tools that rely on static rules, BioCatch adapts over time.

“It’s in listen mode … and then when we hit the toggle-on button, it determines what’s normal versus suspicious,” Wilson said.

For Trinity Bank, the move comes as fraud threats increasingly target commercial clients, Evartt said, adding that the bank already uses an AI-driven tool from core banking service provider FIS to detect fraud and is extending those capabilities to digital channels.

Copilot at Trinity

Alongside its fraud initiatives, Trinity Bank has deployed Microsoft Copilot internally, reporting notable efficiency gains across operations, Evartt said, declining to be specific.

Copilot, in use for about six months, is primarily applied to administrative and research tasks, including drafting job descriptions, building presentations and supporting planning, he said.

“If I can write a job description in five minutes versus it taking me an hour, that’s quite a bit of time,” Evartt said.

The time savings, often reducing tasks by as much as 80%, enables staff to focus on higher-value client engagement while maintaining operational efficiency.
