Scotiabank has introduced Scotia Intelligence, an initiative aimed at accelerating its AI strategy and equipping employees with secure data and AI tools.
The solution unifies the Toronto-based bank’s AI platforms, infrastructure and governance framework to enable deployment at scale across global operations, according to a Scotiabank release today. The initiative is designed to strengthen decision-making, improve development speed and embed responsible AI practices throughout the organization.
Central to the rollout is Scotia Navigator, an AI assistant that supports employees with research, analytics and coding tasks, while allowing teams to build and deploy custom AI assistants in a governed environment. Scotia Intelligence also lays the groundwork for future agentic AI capabilities, the release states.
Early adoption has already taken place in some branches and contact centers at the CA$1.5 trillion ($1.1 trillion) bank. AI is handling more than 40% of client queries at contact centers, and it is processing roughly 90% of incoming emails in commercial banking operations. AI is also being used to enhance digital banking tools, delivering predictive payment prompts that help customers manage routine transactions.
