Williams was senior vice president and head of business banking treasury service at the $217.5 billion Citizens.

In his new role, Williams will collaborate with Citizens’ business banking marketing executives to expand the bank’s sales culture, a Citizens spokesperson told Bank Automation News.

Williams will also lead Providence, R.I.-based Citizens’ effort to reimagine the client experience through digitalization, the spokesperson said.

In his previous role at Citizens, Williams led a multidisciplinary team across cash management, foreign exchange, commercial card and merchant services, the spokesperson said.

Under Williams’ tenure, Citizens delivered double-digit fee income growth and launched solutions such as the CashFlow Essentials cash management tool, the spokesperson said.

Williams “is passionate about leveraging data and technology to simplify banking for small and medium-sized businesses, while empowering teams to deliver advice-driven solutions that help clients thrive,” the spokesperson said.

Williams, who has more than 20 years of leadership in financial services, will speak at Bank Automation Summit 2025 on the panel “Opportunities for banks in digital banking solutions for SMBs” on Tuesday, March 4, at 10:45 a.m. CT at the Hilton Downtown Nashville.
