Citi has launched an internal AI platform designed to let developers build and scale autonomous AI agents in a secure, governed environment.

The platform, Arc, is a centralized operating system for agents and is built separately from the bank’s Citi Stylus Workspaces platform, a Citi spokesperson told FinAi News today.

Arc shifts the focus from chat-based assistance to agents that can research, synthesize information, prepare materials and execute tasks, freeing employees to concentrate on judgment, client relationships and higher-value work, according to Citi’s release today.

The platform is model-agnostic, the spokesperson said, adding that “depending on the task the agent is being created for, we can use the model that is best suited to support it.”

“Arc is built separately from Stylus Workspaces, but a colleague will be able to use Stylus Workspaces as an interface to connect to and work with Arc agents,” the spokesperson said.

It is connected to existing systems, such as Citi’s AI-driven consumer facing platform Citi Sky, which launched April 23, the spokesperson said.

Rollout begins with developers for targeted use cases and will expand firmwide, according to the release.

Early examples of the use of Arc include wealth-banking agents that gather portfolio data, analyze market trends and model scenarios ahead of client meetings, the spokesperson said.

Register here for the FinAi Lending Summit, set for Oct. 7-8 in Las Vegas.
