You may have noticed that product launches in financial services innovation these days come with a prerequisite video. In some cases, this is not just any video, but a jumping, commercial-like “welcome” to the product, with all the production values of an MTV music video.

This is one of the newest product videos out there, but it’s fantastic. A behind-the-scenes look at PayPal Here’s creation, the video offers a singular window into how a big-budget product development project takes shape. 

Who doesn’t love a good magic show … starring a new mobile payments product? Well, we do here at Bank Innovation, and this one featuring Isis is just eye-popping. How’d he do that?!?

The James Bond film of financial services videos, this is one of the first videos from Square, and it remains one of the best FI videos ever. “Smooth, even, steady” — yes, he is talking about a credit payment device. 

Talking babies. Enough said.

We know, we know, it’s not a financial services video. But this one is too out-of-this-world to exclude.

We are not sure how successful will be startup Buck, but the company certainly appears to have been succeeding in making a cool launch video. 

What a product launch video is supposed to look and sound like. And this one comes with a bit of built in scavenger hunt. Can you catch the “Intergration”?

This NFC video from Barclaycard was released just in time for the holidays. Can a product video combine holiday cheer, you might ask? The answer: ho-ho-ho!

Google Wallet just as it was launched on the streets of New York. It’s worth the “Oh my gosh, it is so cool!” line from one of the users. At the least, this video proves yet again that New Yorkers are always up for free stuff.

Still another from Google Wallet. We’re not sure Jason Alexander of “Seinfeld” does the trick, but we appreciate the fact that Google recruited an actual known actor to promote Wallet.

PayPal launched its POS with this video, which garnered more than 100,000 views on YouTube. The video sufficiently pushed forward the concept of mobile POS checkout.
