Platform provider Chargebacks911 named Guy Harris as its chairman of the board and Eric Hoffman as president of interbank solutions and board member.

Chargebacks911 is “a technology platform provider for chargeback management and dispute resolution,” Chief Executive Monica Eaton told Bank Automation News.

The two new hires bring experience from the finance industry, Eaton said. Harris joins Chargebacks911 from Bank of America, where he served most recently as head of merchant services. Hoffman recently left his role at Apple, where he was the director of Apple Pay business development.

Eaton and Harris see their new roles as a challenge and an opportunity to approach chargeback and dispute management for merchants as e-commerce continues to grow, Hoffman told BAN.

The new leaders mentioned they are eager to bring their experience and relationships to a company that has an established customer base and developed technology stack, Harris said, noting that “it’s an exciting journey.”

Starling CEO Boden steps down

Starling Bank Chief Executive Anne Boden

Starling Bank Chief Executive Anne Boden will step down effective June 30 as the bank continues to grow. John Mountain, the bank’s chief operating officer, has been named the interim CEO.

Earlier this year, the bank opened a location in Manchester, England, and hired for 1,000 tech-related positions, according to a previous release. The $14.6 billion London-based digital bank employs 2,500 people at four locations.

“Now that we have grown from being an aspiring challenger to an established bank, it is clear the roles and priorities of a CEO and a large shareholder ultimately differ and require distinct approaches,” Boden said in a May CEO letter. “As Starling continues to evolve and grow, separating my two roles is in the bank’s best interest.”

Mountain will take over for Boden as the bank continues its search for a new CEO, according to the release. Boden will remain on the bank’s board as a non-executive director.

Amount hires two tech execs

Kevin Trilli, chief product officer, Amount
Raj Kolluri, CTO, Amount

Small business account opening fintech Amount added two technology executives — Chief Product Officer Kevin Trilli and Chief Technology Officer Raj Kolluri.

Trilli and Kolluri join Amount with extensive backgrounds in the finance industry and share a goal to build on the Software-as-as-Service platform and create innovative products, the pair told BAN.

Kolluri joined Amount through the fintech’s acquisition of Linear Financial Technologies, he told BAN. When Amount “looked at the platform that we had built at Linear, it was pretty evident that we could take that platform and actually continue to build new products on the platform.”

Trilli, who served as chief product officer at cloud-based core banking SaaS provider Mambu, is focused on building technology that helps business clients “act fast,” he told BAN, noting that business clients want to be agile and grow their businesses.

As Trilli and Kolluri team up for Amount, “Our goal is to automate, automate, automate and remove all the manual processes,” Kolluri said.

CardFlight names Butts CTO

Point-of-sale solutions provider CardFlight named Brian Butts as its chief technology officer recently.

Brian Butts, CTO, CardFlight

Prior to CardFlight, he was vice president of development and cloud operations at Revel Systems, where he was responsible for product management, software development and cloud services, according to a CardFlight release.

In his new role, Butts will help CardFlight continue to grow the product and increase its market space, he told BAN. In the short term, he is working with the product and engineering teams to best understand how he can serve the company.

“For us, it is really just maturing our product in the space and trying to increase the segment that we have today,” he said.
