Bank of America Corp. has hired two more managing directors as it builds out its technology practice, according to an internal memo reviewed by Bloomberg News.

Asad Mahmood, previously a managing director at Barclays Plc., starts in the fall and will focus on semiconductor and quantum computing coverage. He’ll be based in Palo Alto, California, according to the memo from Karim Assef and Faiz Ahmad, the chair and the head of global investment banking, respectively.

Gregory Reider is joining the Brazil technology investment banking team this week, covering Latin America tech and fintech. Reider was previously at Latin America-focused venture capital firm Volpe Capital, where he was co-founder and managing partner, according to the memo.

A spokesperson for Bank of America confirmed the contents of the memo.

Mahmood and Reider will join more than 40 other managing directors in the global corporate and investment banking unit who have been hired this year by the Charlotte, North Carolina-based bank. The new hires include Richard Hardegree, who started last week as vice chair of technology M&A, according to the memo. Hardegree, previously at UBS Group AG, is based in Palo Alto.
