Bank of America has been deploying AI tech for years and is seeing quantifiable returns, giving the organization a boost in efficiency and client experience.

The $2.4 trillion bank deployed its AI-driven CashPro Forecasting tool, which helps businesses predict cash flow while keeping in mind macroeconomic factors including tariffs and supply chain constraints, in 2022, CashPro Product Executive Jennifer Sanctis, told FinAi News.

“It is built within the CashPro platform, making it convenient for clients to access,” she said. “The tool pulls in bank account information, including balances, but also the transaction level detail, and allows users to conduct analyses based on different scenarios and drivers.”

With a click, users can get a forecast or customize input by changing factors including currency exchange or tariffs in its supply chain, she said.

The bank saw use spike on two significant dates: April 15 when the administration of Donald Trump announced tariffs, and June 18, when the U.S. Federal Reserve announced an interest rate change, Sanctis said. She added that the tool, which was developed internally, provided strategic assistance to the bank’s 3,000 commercial clients during peak times of uncertainty. The bank declined to comment the cost to develop the tool.

Without the tool, the process might have taken many hours or even days, with values having to be inserted into a spread sheet. With the CashPro Forecasting tool, it could be done in minutes, she said.

“We talked to our clients and found that they collectively saved over 250,000 hours [in 2025] alone,” Sanctis said.

Other AI CashPro tools

CashPro Forecasting is just one AI-driven tool in the bank’s tool kit, Sanctis said, adding that it has deployed several tools over the years to simplify manual processes.

Other AI-driven CashPro or data intelligence tools include:

  • CashPro Search, which allows businesses to search for information pertaining to their accounts;
  • CashPro Insights, which provides businesses with data-driven insights about their financial history; and
  • CashPro Chat, which serves as a chatbot to clients.

All tools run on AI or machine learning, and the bank is evaluating how to embed gen AI into these offerings, Sanctis said.

“AI has done a tremendous job for us with a lot of these CashPro tools as we aim to solve client problems,” she said. “When we innovate, we start with the question, ‘What are we trying to solve for our clients?’ Then we find the right technology that can solve that question or client need. That applies to AI too, and so it varies whether we apply machine learning or advanced algorithms.”
