Bank of America has built and launched an expanded CashPro Payment API this week to give clients more options to process transactions in multiple countries at any time of day.

“Through a single API implementation, the bank’s Cash Pro Payment API connects clients to over 350 payment types across 38 global markets,” Meg Garand, head of CashPro API and Payments in Global Transaction Services at Bank of America, told Bank Automation News, noting its development was led and largely built by the bank’s in-house team with assistance from an unnamed integration software provider.
The new API release allows for seven real-time payments schemes and services, cross-border payments, domestic ACH, local payment instruments and bundled payments on the bank’s CashPro Payment app, according to a Bank of America release.
Dedicated specialists at the bank can assist with the onboarding process, Garand said, noting, “Clients can perform self-testing with the ability to send payments within two weeks.”
The latest update is part of a series of several enhancements planned for the CashPro product over the next 18 months, and follows the bank’s recent launch of biometric sign-in capabilities for the app.
