Agentic automation software provider UiPath has acquired WorkFusion, a specialist in AI-powered tools for financial crime compliance.

The move will strengthen UiPath’s suite of AI solutions for banks and other financial institutions, according to UiPath’s release today.

The acquisition, which closed in UiPath’s first quarter of fiscal 2027, brings WorkFusion’s library of pre-built AI agents into UiPath’s broader automation and orchestration platform. Financial services firms increasingly are seeking ways to automate complex compliance processes, including anti-money laundering and know-your-customer workflows, to reduce operational costs and improve accuracy, the release stated.

WorkFusion’s technology is designed to handle labor-intensive tasks such as customer screening and investigation review, using AI agents that can act much like digital analysts. Integrated with UiPath’s platform, these agents are intended to help institutions analyze patterns, prioritize cases requiring human judgment and maintain robust security and regulatory controls.

UiPath Chief Executive Daniel Dines said the addition expands the company’s portfolio of agentic AI solutions for financial services. The integrated offerings are expected to enable comprehensive business process orchestration, combining automation with human expertise.

““Incorporating WorkFusion’s purpose-built AI agents for financial crime compliance into our platform expands our portfolio of agentic AI solutions for these industries, extending our ability to deliver comprehensive business orchestration and automation solutions to our customers,” Dines said. “We’re delivering a powerful set of AI-powered solutions capable of automating and orchestrating critical compliance processes and workflows while working alongside people to deliver impact.”

Some FIs that use UiPath’s services are:

  • State Street;
  • VP Bank;
  • Fiserv;
  • Bank of East Asia;
  • Sun Coast Credit Union;
  • Nest Bank; and
  • Syd Bank.

Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
