Open banking, augmenting the customer experience (CX), and AI were key themes across Bank Automation News’ most popular “The Buzz” podcast episodes in 2022. Listen as the BAN editorial team talks through the issues that will continue to impact the financial services industry in the year ahead.
The three most played podcasts of the year:
1. Open banking in US sees ‘groundswell’ of demand

Core provider Jack Henry is focused on its open banking strategy moving forward, as the company has taken notice of customers and their needs when it comes to selecting or moving to another financial institution, Jack Henry Chief Executive David Foss says in this episode of “The Buzz.”
“There’s been this real groundswell of open banking demand in the United States,” Foss tells BAN. “People are telling their financial institution that if they can’t get data out of their financial institution to share with whoever they need to share it with, they’ll find a different financial institution.”
2. How AI-powered automation can streamline financial reporting
With emphasis on regulation and reporting standards, lenders “need a simplified and accurate way to receive financial reports so they can make decisions,” Sid Saxena, chief executive of AI-powered accounting automation platform Docyt, tells BAN in this episode of “The Buzz.”
Saxena details how the company’s automated solution allows small businesses to free up back-office human resources in a short period of time.
3. Banks lean on technology and talent to improve CX
Improving customer experience is one of the hot topics on most banks’ minds as they compete for clients — and human interaction may still be key, Kristiane Mandraki, director of business development and marketing at software developer fintech Praxent, tells BAN.
“The best way for banks and credit unions to really have that human interaction and understand what can differentiate them and understand how to create really delightful experiences, is to really speak to your users,” Mandraki says in this episode of “The Buzz.”
