Dollar Bank is prioritizing AI education from the top down — starting with leadership training.

Vice President of AI Innovation Brent Wilson recently completed Massachusetts Institute of Technology’s “Leadership for the AI Age” course, a bank spokesperson told FinAi News. Wilson took on the role this month.

The eight-week online course, which costs $3,200, equips professionals with the critical skills and insights to lead effectively in today’s evolving technological landscape, according to MIT.

“It’s not just training on the particular use of AI in a tool, it’s the AI leadership and how to roll out these platforms,” Bill Fortwangler, chief information officer at the $11.9 billion community bank, told FinAi News.

Bankwide training

While the bank invests in AI leadership training, it has also educated employees on the best way to tap the technology, Wilson told FinAi News.

The bank is leaning on these resources for training:

  • O’Reilly, an online learning platform that offers training in generative AI for finance and agent building;
  • Anthropic, with classes on Claude, Claude Code, Claude Platform and Claude Cowork; and
  • Microsoft, with Microsoft Copilot Studio education.

“I have to make sure everybody is trained,” Wilson said.

University offerings

In addition to MIT, the University of Cambridge has a training program focused on helping senior leadership approach AI. In fact, Lloyds Bank sent 300 senior executives to Cambridge’s AI program in 2025, a Lloyds spokesperson previously told FinAi News.

Harvard Business School also offers an on-demand course called “AI for Leaders” priced at $1,949, according to the university.

Additionally, Michigan State University offers a professional certificate in implementing AI management in leadership, according to the university. The two-course program, priced at $2,000, kicks off Aug. 1.

Register here for the FinAi Lending Summit, set for Oct. 7-8 in Las Vegas. This inaugural event will include speakers from Fifth Third and Capital One, as well as a fireside chat with Piermont Bank founder and Chief Executive Wendy Cai-Lee.
