AI financial solutions provider Hapax is providing free AI education to employees of financial institutions like USAA and Comerica Bank with its AI Certification for Bankers program.

The Austin, Texas-based company launched its AI Certification for Bankers (AICB) program in January to give employees of any bank a crash course on AI and its use cases in their operations, Keara McGlynn, the company’s marketing manager, told FinAi News.

“There are seven different modules in the certificate course, which starts from educating people about the history of AI, how it is used in different operations like risk management and fraud detection,” McGlynn said. “The modules can be completed at your own pace with self-evaluation questionnaire at the end of each module and it takes three to four hours to go through them.”

AICB is free, and more than 150 financial institutions have signed up for it since its launch last month, she said, adding that banks of all sizes are signing up for the certification.

The Hapax offering falls in line with a trend. Tech providers like Oracle and Amazon Web Services also provide training to banks that use their services, with a focus on how to use AI to its best capacity, according to FinAi News’ prior reporting.

“We not only want to provide better tools for the industry but also aim to become a resource on which credit unions and banks can lean on to better keep up with the changing landscape of technology,” Hapax’s McGlynn said.
