Revolut Business, Amex team up for payments acceptance

Brex, OneAZ Credit Union and CIH Bank among dealmakers this week

London-based Revolut Business is accepting American Express cards to boost revenue. 

Revolut clients can accept American Express card payments via channels including Tap to Pay, Revolut Gateway and Payments Link, according to an Oct. 9 release from the digital bank.

Revolut Gateway provides customers with a unified payment experience for in-store or online payments to reduce friction, according to the company. Its Payment Link feature allows merchants to send customers a link so they may make payments online through their preferred method. 

Brex, Navan join forces for travel expense management

Corporate spend management service provider Brex and travel expense management service provider Navan announced BrexPay for Navan on Oct. 15. 

The combined offering can reduce time to manage travel expenses and increase travel expense compliance according to company policies, a Brex release stated. 

With Navan, Brex business customers can manage business travel, create custom spend limits, pay with their Brex card and reconcile payments, the release stated. BrexPay for Navan accepts 50 local currencies. 

OneAZ Credit Union to acquire 1st Bank Yuma

The $3.4 billion OneAZ Federal Credit Union has agreed to acquire $600 million, Yuma, Ariz.-based 1st Bank Yuma for an undisclosed amount.  

“1st Bank Yuma has established itself as a leader in business banking in southern Arizona, with strong commercial and agricultural deposits and lending portfolio,” President and Chief Executive of OneAZ Credit Union Brandon Michaels told Bank Automation News. “Combined with OneAZ’s strong consumer deposits and lending operations,” 1St Bank of Yuma can expand its services in the region. 

The 1st Bank Yuma operations and employees will be absorbed by Phoenix-based OneAZ Federal Credit Union, Michaels said, adding that “our teams are working on a detailed plan that includes system integration for our two organizations’ technology infrastructures.”  

OneAZ FCU will gain five 1st Bank Yuma branches in southern Arizona, an Oct. 3 release from the credit union stated. The transaction is expected to close by 2026 after gaining regulatory approval in 2025. 

CIH Bank selects Backbase for digital banking

Morrocco-based CIH Bank has selected Amsterdam-based digital banking provider Backbase to improve its online and mobile banking experience, according to an Oct. 16 release. 

CIH Bank aims to improve onboarding, offer personalized experiences and solutions, and increase customer engagement by working with Backbase, the release stated. 

Backbase customers include the $24 billion Boston-based Eastern Bank, $5 billion Washington State Employees Credit Union and $14 billion Hanoi, Vietnam-based TPBank.
