PayPal’s new global platform, PayPal World, will be equipped with agentic AI and stablecoin, and connect payments systems with multiple digital wallets.
The platform is expected to launch in the coming fall, Chief Executive Alex Chriss said today during PayPal’s Q2 earnings call.

Consumers are often uncertain which businesses accept digital wallet payments, Chriss said. With PayPal World, “five of the largest digital wallets in the world — PayPal, Venmo, Mercado Pago, Tenpay Global and UPI — are coming together on a seamless global platform.”
“The platform will be compatible with dynamic payment buttons, stablecoins and the latest technologies and commerce experiences, including agentic shopping,” Chriss said.

PayPal recently expanded its crypto offerings during the second quarter to offer:
- The ability to earn rewards using stablecoin on PayPal and Venmo;
- The availability of stablecoin PYUSD on the Stellar and Arbitrum blockchains; and
- Pay with Crypto by PayPal, announced July 28.
Referring to crypto, Chriss said: “we’re only at the beginning of what’s possible here.”
