Michel Jacobs has been named chief strategy officer of tech provider CSI.

As CSO, Jacobs is responsible for growth, including market expansion, mergers and acquisitions, and business diversification, according to an Aug. 27 release.

Michel Jacobs

Jacobs, who held leadership roles at Technisys, FIS and Intellect Design Arena, aids in innovation efforts in:

  • Real-time payments;
  • Embedded finance; and
  • Commercial banking.

“Michel has a deep understanding of challenges community institutions face and is working with the team to refine and execute a roadmap of premier solutions to overcome them,” CSI Chief Executive Nancy Langer said in the release.

Jacobs started in the role in July, a CSI spokesperson told Bank Automation News.

CSI clients include Signature Bank of Arkansas and INB.

The $544 billion Truist added Diane Rogerson to its risk team as chief information risk officer.

“Diane brings a wealth of leadership experience and expertise in technology and risk management,” Brad Bender, chief risk officer at Truist, said Aug. 27 via LinkedIn.

The appointment follows the announcement of Truist’s five-year plan consisting of tech investments, new branches and new hires.

“John has a proven track record of success in empowering financial services and technology organizations to realize their strategic goals and succeed; he has already proven to bring significant value to our team and client base,” Candescent CEO Brendan Tansill said in the release.

Garvey’s appointment follows other Candescent leadership changes:

  • Peter Gray was appointed vice president of professional services and delivery in August; and
  • Satheesh Ravala was named chief technology officer in July.

Candescent is based in Atlanta and serves 1,300 banks and credit unions, according to the company.

Coastal Financial adds to exec team

Everett, Wash.-based Coastal Financial, parent company of Coastal Community Bank (CCBX), appointed four new executives in August.

The $4.5 billion bank brought on:

  • Ryan Hall as chief product officer;
  • Michael Costigan as chief commercial officer;
  • Freddy Rivas as chief credit officer; and
  • Chris Morgan as chief information security officer.

Each appointee will “bring a distinct set of skills that will help us expand our product offerings, deepen relationships, manage risk, and safeguard the infrastructure across the bank and our embedded finance offerings,” Brian Hamilton, president of CCBX, the fintech and BaaS division of Coastal Financial, said in an Aug. 13 release.
