Google Wallet’s Instant Buy will get the star treatment up the company’s I/O conference, which starts today in San Francisco.

Instant Buy — a competitor to Amazon’s one-click buying button — will be the featured subject of Google Wallet’s presentation at the event, a key gathering for the Google-verse.

Google Wallet announced earlier this month that Instant Buy was available to iOS developers, not just Android coders. The iOS API allows developers to integrate a fast checkout experience using Google Wallet that will work across the web, iOS and Android apps, reports 9to5mac.com. Newegg, Fancy and Ruelala, among other digital retailers, are using the feature in their mobile checkout, Google said.

The Instant Buy session, schedule for tomorrow at 10 am PT, is called, will showcase the “two-click checkout” of Instant Buy. Here’s how Google describes the recent strategy behind Instant Buy and what’s new with the product:

One of the top barriers to mobile commerce remains friction during checkout. Google Wallet Instant Buy brings two-click checkout to all major platforms: Android, mobile web, and iOS. Besides cross-platform support, since last year we have been busy making Instant Buy even better. We’ve worked with developers to make it even easier to integrate and monetize physical goods and services on Android. We’ve listened to buyers and have made using Instant Buy a simpler experience.

Michael Galpin, a senior software engineer at Google, and Prakash Hariramani, a senior product manager on the Google Wallet team, will present on Instant Buy. Interestingly, the director of product management at Google Wallet is not presenting — because Google Wallet doesn’t have one at the moment. Peter Hazlehurt, who had filled that role, left the company at the end of March. Hazlehurst had been on the Google Wallet team since 2012. There’s another Google Wallet session scheduled at I/O, a meet-the-team “office hours” — which appears to be a necessity at this point.
