Chase Taps Michael for ‘Head of Digital’
JPMorgan Chase & Co. has named Dr. Gavin Michael to be “head of digital for consumer and community banking,” a newly created position.
Michael, who most recently was chief technology innovation officer at Accenture, will start at Chase in April.
Michael will manage mobile and electronic payments at Chase and the companywide Corporate Internet Group, which includes Chase.com. “Working closely with business leaders across the entire firm, he will drive and execute our mobile and digital strategy,” the company said in a statement.
Based in New York, Michael will report to Gordon Smith, CEO of JPM’s Consumer and Community Banking, and Guy Chiarello, chief information officer for JPMorgan Chase.
Chase Bank has 12 million active mobile users and Chase.com has 31 million active users.
