Energy One Federal Credit Union is adding AI-powered financial calculators to its website as part of its effort to enhance users’ digital experience.

Tulsa, Okla.-based Energy One FCU will launch six AI-driven calculators from Appli on Feb. 15 alongside its new website, according to today’s release. The tools will cover auto loans, home equity lines of credit, mortgages, money market accounts, share certificates and savings goals.

Appli provides AI-powered calculator platforms designed for credit unions and community banks, according to the fintech. Energy One, founded in 1935, said in the release that the new tools will help educate members and streamline its digital lending and savings services.

“The calculators provide us with far more data than traditional website tools, which helps us better understand our members and communicate with them in the ways they prefer,” said Seth Phillips, the credit union’s director of marketing. Rates update automatically within the calculators when changed on the website, reducing maintenance, he said.

The calculators are designed not only to determine loan eligibility but also to explain results and suggest steps to improve approval chances, such as credit-building products. The platform includes plain-language explanations of lending terms aimed at members who may be new to borrowing or building credit.

Staff have begun using the tools in branches to guide conversations with members, reflecting what the credit union described as a member-centric, educational approach rather than a sales-driven strategy, according to the credit union. The credit union also plans to use the platform’s analytics dashboard to track member engagement and identify opportunities for targeted outreach.
