US Bank adds request for payment to its solution for AR teams

U.S. Bank has added request for payment (RfP) capabilities to its digital solution for the bank’s commercial accounts receivable teams. The technology allows billers to offer customers the option of having bills delivered directly through their bank’s website or app. RfPs are sent through The Clearing House’s real-time payment network, which allows payments to be made around the clock and cleared instantly. The new payment option is available through the U.S. Bank eBill Service, which is a digital solution for corporate accounts receivable teams. U.S. Bank would not disclose the cost for the new RfP capabilities. The service also allows billers to offer customers payment options through their preferred channel, including pay-by-text, Apple Pay, Google Pay and Amazon Alexa. RfPs will help streamline operations and reduce costs for billers, Rich Erario, executive vice president and head of Global Treasury Management at the Minneapolis-based U.S. Bank , said in the announcement. “Real-time payments are transforming and enriching the entire bill payment experience,” Erario said. “By leveraging our industry-leading platforms, we’re able to continue to meet and exceed our customers' bill payment needs today while positioning them for the future — in real-time.” U.S. Bank previously offered RfPs using SinglePoint, its treasury portal; through APIs using the U.S. Bank Developer Portal; and via direct file transmission.
