At conferences like BAI Retail Delivery, which concludes today in Washington, D.C., attendees get – and give out – a lot of business cards. The one pictured here struck us as the coolest card we’ve been handed in some time.

The card belongs to Cummins Allison, a company that produces cash- and check-processing machines. Four hundred checks per minute and 1,600 bills per minute are counted, tallied, and digitally recorded by these devices – twice as fast as competitors, Product Manager Matthew Gniech told Bank Innovation.

The story behind the perforated holes punched on the card starts in 1887.  Cummins began way back then making machines called perforators, “to facilitate cancellation of checks, bonds and other financial instruments.”

And they’re still at work making products for the financial services community today.
