Boeing Employees’ Credit Union acquired a gen AI fintech to execute its AI strategy, with plans to launch a gen AI-driven adviser tool.
The Washington-based, $29.9 billion credit union completed the acquisition of fintech EarnUp’s AI Advisor technology in the first quarter, Nadim Homsany, senior vice president of AI strategy and innovation at BECU, told Bank Automation News. The sale price was not disclosed.

“This acquisition will assist BECU in finding ways of integrating AI more broadly at the credit union, enabling better mobile and digital experience, more personalized servicing across all member-facing channels and streamlined processes for all employees,” he said.
The acquisition included 13 of Earnup’s employees, which the credit union is tapping to form an AI strategy and innovation team to identify opportunities for efficiency using gen AI and to train employees on the technology.
One tool the team is developing is AI Advisor, Homsany said. “The AI Advisor is a tool that will give members real-time financial guidance and analytics through deeply personalized interactions.”
“We’re developing this tool to deliver sound, unbiased financial guidance that helps members achieve their financial goals,” he said, without specifying a time frame for the tool’s launch.
The credit union is also piloting a gen AI-driven tool, Monty, to help BECU contact center employees access the information they need to help members, Homsany said.
