Alpharetta, GA – April 11 2012 — Financial Management Solutions, Inc. (FMSI), provider of business intelligence solutions for banks and credit unions, announced today that Fort Knox Federal Credit Union has successfully turned around their year-over-year declining branch efficiency with the help of FMSI’s workforce optimization solution, the Teller Management System™ (TMS).

“The signs that we were not optimally staffed were there,” says Ray Springsteen, SVP over Branch Administration at Fort Knox.  “We were continually noticing tellers standing around without any customers waiting in line, so we started to ask ourselves the tough questions, such as, how are we handling full-time and part-time staff and can we do this better?  We were confident that the optimization of our staff would have a big impact to our bottom-line.”

The Teller Management System™ schedules tellers based on forecasted transaction volumes, thus helping banks and credit unions gain better control of labor costs while increasing service levels.

With FMSI’s Teller Management SystemTM, Fort Knox Federal Credit Union has been able to better manage their teller scheduling resulting in a 21% drop in their labor cost per transaction since early 2011.

“FMSI’s solution accelerated our roll-out period and most importantly gave us the ongoing focus we required to improve our staffing approach,” adds Springsteen.

“Maintaining teller staffing at the ideal level to ensure customer satisfaction can sometimes be a very institution-specific decision,” says W. Michael Scott, President/CEO of FMSI. “Without accurate information, most banks and credit unions are not equipped to make a proper evaluation. With more than 20 years of experience helping financial institutions improve the productivity of their staff, our unique solutions for measuring and forecasting transaction volumes regularly reveal areas for better service and increased productivity.”
