PerkStreet Financial Inc., a checking account with rewards debit card provider, will launch during the first half of 2012 budgeting tools and personal finance courses that tie directly into customers’ accounts, Bank Innovation has learned.

To incentivize consumers to use the tools, Chief Executive and Founder Dan O’Malley of the virtual bank says consumers will be rewarded when they use PFM services, tying the budgeting tools to PerkStreet’s rewards platform.

“We’re really excited about the new products we’re launching the first half of this year,” says O’Malley. “Over the next six months, we will define and show what PerkStreet will all be about.”

O’Malley will be speaking at the upcoming Bank Innovation 2012 to discuss and debate what it means to be a bank and where his enterprise is headed. The session will take place at March 28th at 9 a.m. PST.
