Alternative payment transactions do not follow traditional processing rails. Additional payment types, distributed network infrastructures (such as mobile and cloud), open platforms and emerging third party payment applications translate into a whole new set of potential performance issues. As a result, it is becoming almost impossible to quickly pinpoint where an issue is, who owns the issue, and what needs to be done to alleviate bottlenecks related to network or application performance.
