Payment services platform provider Aliaswire Inc. just moved another step forward in registering its “Secure Authentication and Payment System” patent, announcing today that it received a notice of allowance from the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. Translation: its pending patent has survived the opposition period following publication in the weekly USPTO, and it is now allowed for registration.

The “patent has more than 40 claims covering a broad range of payment transactions such as P2P mobile payments, mobile funds transfers, and purchases that take place over wireless devices,” announced Aliaswire. No matter how the payments are initiated through the company — mobile applications, SMS text messages or through voice commands — payment routing is completed in a payment network that might include ACH, EFT or credit card.

Aliaswire says it expects the patent to be issued within the next 60 days. The patent has a priority date of July 2001.
