FIs Web Traffic Grows Faster Than Even Top Porn Site
The largest financial services websites saw substantial year-over-year traffic growth last month, according to new data released today.
This growth came as traffic at some of the other Top 50 websites in the nation fell, including at PornHub.com, the largest online porn site, Netflix.com and Walmart.com.
Well, the financial services sites must be doing something right to beat out that competition.
Three of the nation’s largest banks — JPMorgan Chase, Wells Fargo and Bank of America — garnered YOY growth of at least 8%, with Chase.com turning in 15.45% YOY growth. PayPal, meanwhile, saw its traffic grow more than 20% last month, while Intuit.com’s traffic soared more than 30%.
Traffic fell precipitously, however, at Target.com, down more than 18% last month compared to the same month in 2013.
In Compete’s list of the 50 most popular sites for April, Google topped the list, followed by Yahoo! and Facebook. Chase.com, the consumer portal for JPMorgan Chase, was tops in financial services at #26 and 38.7 million current user visits last month. Wells Fargo (#34) and Bank of America (#35) were preceded by banking bête noires PayPal (#32) and Target (#33.)
Two big climbers in April were image-based social media site Pinterest (#25, up from #34 the previous month) and Intuit, a newcomer to the list at #48.
