Jayson Callies, chief information and innovation officer at Seattle Bank, will join Bank Automation Summit Fall 2022 to speak on the “Embedded Finance: Frontiers in Open Banking” panel on Monday, Sept. 19 at 1:45 p.m. PT.
Bank Automation Summit Fall 2022 will be held Sept. 19-20 at the Hyatt Olive 8 in Seattle.

The Summit brings together the most innovative thought leaders in banking technology to discuss trends and innovations, helping banks fuel their technology and automation strategies for 2023 and beyond.
Callies captains IT infrastructure at $762 million Seattle Bank and is responsible for leading implementation of the bank’s client-facing technologies. He brings to the table more than 16 years’ experience in banking technology, with a focus on network and communications technologies and core banking. Callies offered Bank Automation News best practices for approaching open banking from the bank perspective.
“Vendors that are ‘API-first’ with an open-banking mindset seem to be more agile and move faster,” Callies told BAN. “It can also be critical to achieving scale. You need to be able to create repeatable processes in the back office and support channels.”
“If you are not able to achieve adequate automation and scalable processes, the bank will need to staff up and given the current hiring environment, that is both a hard and slow process,” Callies added.
Callies previously served as senior vice president, chief technology officer at $14.5 billion Columbus, Ohio-based Northwest Bank.
