Cloud data platform Aunalytics targets mid-sized financial institutions with automated analytics

The cloud-based data platform Aunalytics is targeting mid-sized banks and credit unions with a new solution that automates big data analytics and management. Aunalytics CEO Rich Carlton told Bank Automation News the company’s goal is to give mid-sized banks access to insights based on artificial intelligence (AI) that might otherwise require a full data science team. Its Daybreak for Financial Services platform, released yesterday, has at its core a data model and algorithms built for customer intelligence. The South Bend, Ind.-based company pulls in transaction-level unstructured data that most banks don’t analyze because “it blows up a normal SQL Server,” Carlton said, referring to Microsoft’s database management system. Daybreak is designed specifically to support banks and credit unions as they pull valuable customer data from across organizational silos like lending, mobile banking, ATM, customer relationship management, wealth and trust. The solution is built in the cloud and leverages Hadoop clusters, the big data open-source solution; Exasol, an in-memory analytics database; and Kubernetes, an open-source system for automating computer application deployment, scaling and management. Carlton said the new system automatically processes the unstructured data using Aunalytics’ data model and algorithms, giving banks access to predictive modeling capabilities. “What we've done in Daybreak is automate that,” Carlton said. The solution can pull data from core providers Fiserv, Jack Henry or FIS. Once that data is mapped from its location, the data models can run it. The solution also offers automated data enrichment and pre-built connectors to most major core systems, including for CRMs, loans and mortgages. It incorporates a low-code option for natural language searching, so users don’t have to understand SQL or know code to garner business insights, Carlton said. The AI and machine learning come into play as data is processed daily to “teach” the algorithm how to improve, Carlton said. Aunalytics has raised $820,000 in one funding round, according to Crunchbase. The company formed in 2019, when cloud infrastructure companies Secant and Microintegrations merged with Data Realty, a data center.
