Money-transfer startup Felix Pago raised $200 million to expand beyond remittances and offer services such as lending and savings to Latin American immigrants in the United States.

The Series B includes $87 million of equity led by Andreessen Horowitz and a $113 million credit line from General Catalyst’s Customer Value Fund.

Miami-based Felix Pago, which said it has processed more than $8 billion of money transfers through its WhatsApp-based platform, also said it plans to develop an AI-powered financial assistant to help customers make everyday financial decisions.

The company said it will invest in AI, engineering and financial infrastructure to expand its existing money-transfer business. It has also added mobile top-ups, allowing users in the U.S. to purchase phone plans for family members in their home countries.

Previous investors including QED Investors, Castle Island Ventures and Switch Ventures participated in the round, along with Contour Venture Partners and Endeavor Catalyst.

“This funding round stems precisely from the combination of what users tell us they need and our own ambition to serve them,” Chief Executive and co-founder Manuel Godoy said in an interview. “We want to build a Goldman Sachs-style experience for a user who has historically been completely underserved.”

The fundraising comes as U.S. policy changes and shifting demographics among immigrants accelerate a move from cash to digital money transfers, increasing pressure on traditional remittance companies including Western Union and MoneyGram International.

Fintech companies including Felix Pago, Remitly Global Inc. and Wise Group Plc, along with cryptocurrency exchanges such as Bitso Inc., are competing for a larger share of a Latin American remittance market worth more than $160 billion a year.

Felix Pago said it has processed transactions for more than 6 million people across the Americas and operates in 11 countries in the region, including Mexico, El Salvador, Colombia and Ecuador. It plans to use part of the funding to expand further into countries such as Brazil and Venezuela.

Godoy said the startup’s conversational interface is designed in part to address immigrants’ preference for personal interaction when handling money.

“This conversational experience came about partly because Latinos are very wary when it comes to money — we want to go to a physical location and speak to a person before handing over our cash,” he said. “The conversational experience really gives people the feeling that they are talking to a real person, even though it’s a chatbot.”

Venture capital fundraising in Latin America remains well below pandemic-era highs, with about $900 million raised through the first half of 2026, compared with $2.6 billion for all of 2025.
