Hapax wants AI to build your bank’s AI

HumanX performed 350 automations in 2 weeks in beta testing

AI financial solutions provider Hapax is enabling financial institutions to build their own AI tools by deploying its AI tool to do all the heavy lifting.

The company in April launched HumanX, which watches how an organization works, identifies what can be automated and deploys custom “AI workers” with no engineering or configuration required, a Hapax spokesperson  told FinAi News.

“Instead of prompting a chatbot or manually building workflows, the system proactively identifies what needs to be done and can deploy solutions for you,” the spokesperson said.

The platform starts delivering value within hours and begins understanding workflows and launching useful automations, they said.

“In beta testing, one organization saw more than 350 proactive automations completed in under two weeks.”

The tech

The HumanX platform is designed to be model-agnostic, the spokesperson said.

“Hapax uses over a dozen different models and will select the best model to complete the desired task,” they said.

“The real innovation isn’t which model runs underneath; it’s the system built around them: the behavioral observation engine, the business model and the ability to generate and deploy AI co-workers without having to configure or maintain.”

HumanX is all about creating links, the spokesperson said.

“It connects to tools like core banking systems, ERPs, CRMs and even spreadsheets, pulling data into a unified view and acting across them,” they said.

“This functions like a mix of middleware and embedded automation, allowing it to operate within current workflows.”

Hapax was purpose-built for banking from the start and today the platform is in use at institutions including banks managing as much as $90 billion in assets, the spokesperson said.

Many of these relationships began during early deployments, helping shape  HumanX’s capabilities before broader enterprise expansion, they said, adding that the company isn’t keen on disclosing its FI partners just yet

FIs keep data security at the forefront while deploying gen AI tools, they said, adding that, HumanX uses permissioned data access to control who and what can see sensitive information. And it logs every AI action for full traceability.

“This creates a clear audit trail, which is essential for regulatory frameworks like GLBA, GDPR and model risk-management,” the spokesperson said. “In practice, that means banks can monitor, explain and govern AI behavior without losing control or visibility.”

AI for AI

Deploying AI to build AI tools is more efficient than humans creating tools to automate processes,  they said, adding that AI can observe multiple processes quickly with high attention to details — something humans might find difficult.

Other major companies such as Nvidia also are taking a similar approach.

The chip designer is using AI to design GPUs and has found huge success, Malcolm deMayo, global vice president of financial services at the chipmaker, previously told FinAi News.

Another example is Neuron Labs, an AI consulting company that uses AI to deploy agentic AI tools within financial services companies’ existing operations, according to the company. The New York-based company’s clients include HSBC and Visa.
