The new chief operating officer at Click n’ Close is focused on scale at the mortgage lender, leaning on its proprietary systems.

“For me, scalable growth starts with data, process discipline and technology,” COO Delores Lopez told FinAi News. “When you combine a data-driven mindset with strong infrastructure and clear operational accountability, you can scale in a way that is both efficient and sustainable.”

Delores Lopez

Lopez joined the lender, which specializes in Native American home loans, on April 6 from Titan Bank, where she was executive vice president of mortgage operations, according to a release from Click n’ Close.

“The company’s technology focus was a major draw,” Lopez said, mentioning its proprietary systems and integrated AI.

“AI absolutely has a role to play in scaling, especially when it is embedded directly into the lending workflow,” she said.

For example, Click n’ Close has proprietary loan origination technology, she said.

“The LOS includes AI-driven capabilities that help automate and streamline processes, including document management and pricing-related functions,” she said.

The Addison, Texas-based lender uses AI in loan documentation for:

  • Classification;
  • Indexing; and
  • Organization.

The platform also has an AI-powered pricing engine that updates investor and aggregator pricing, she said.

“When AI is built into the core platform like that, it helps create the operational consistency and efficiency needed to scale more effectively,” Lopez said.

Recent AI moves

Along with proprietary technology, Click n’ Close has also invested in third-party capabilities to streamline efficiencies.

In February, Click n’ Close announced that it tapped cloud-native mortgage servicing platform Dara by Sagent.

The platform powers “core, consumer, default, data, AI and loan transfer operations,” Sagent Chief Executive Chris Marshall said in a February release.

John Bargas, executive managing director of servicing at Click n’ Close, added: “With real-time data, seamless integrations and configurable, exception-based workflows, Dara will improve our operations and strengthen the end-to-end experience across origination and servicing.”

Mortgage lenders, including Evergreen Home Loans and Land Home Financial, have also recently selected Dara by Sagent, according to Sagent.

Leadership shakeup

The addition of Lopez follows the appointment of Ian Kimball as Click n’ Close’s president last fall.

Register here for the FinAi Lending Summit, set for Oct. 7-8 in Las Vegas.
