Truist has appointed longtime Microsoft executive Pascal Belaud as its chief AI and data officer, the company said Nov. 19. He will begin the role Nov. 24 and report to Chief Information Officer Steve Hagerman.
Belaud will oversee Truist’s enterprise-wide strategy for artificial intelligence, data and advanced automation, according to a company release. His mandate includes shaping long-term vision and accelerating execution as the company expands its use of emerging technologies.

“We’re thrilled to welcome Pascal to Truist as our chief AI & data officer,” Hagerman said in the release. “Pascal is a visionary, as well as a charismatic leader, and will be an incredible asset to our team. His expertise across AI and data is matched only by his passion for driving innovation at speed and scale.”
Belaud joins Truist after more than 25 years at Microsoft, where he held multiple leadership roles serving the U.S. financial sector, spanning AI, data insights, analytics, cloud, machine learning and predictive analysis, according to the release.
“I’m very excited to be part of Truist’s growth and purpose-driven journey,” Belaud said. “We have tremendous opportunities to strategically and responsibly harness the power of AI and data to transform client and teammate experiences.”
