U.S. Bank embedded its payment capabilities into enterprise resource planning (ERP) solution Microsoft Dynamics 365 this week, giving Microsoft business clients access to digital payment tools.
“Embedded payments can deliver powerful new ways for businesses to streamline processes, enhance visibility, deliver better experience and reduce risk,” Bill Borden, corporate vice president of worldwide financial services at Microsoft, said in a statement.

The U.S. Bank AP Optimizer was the first tool integrated via API into the Microsoft platform, allowing for automated accounts payable workflows, according to a release.
More payments tools within Microsoft Teams and Microsoft Power platforms are “in the pipeline,” a U.S. Bank spokesperson told Bank Automation News.
The embedded payments integration is the latest collaboration for the bank and tech giant after their multiyear partnership was announced in February.
“Our integration with Microsoft — which businesses rely on daily to serve their customers — opens new possibilities for U.S. Bank clients to improve efficiencies and enable faster payments,” Shailesh Kotwal, vice chair and head of payment services at U.S. Bank, said in the release.
