Lightico, a fintech that automates e-signatures and other customer-identification verifiers, today announced an additional $15 million follow-on series B funding round led by Capital One Ventures, bringing the total round to $27 million, and representing the group’s second financial investment in the fintech in less than a year.
Capital One Ventures is the venture capital arm of Capital One Financial, the holding company for the $422 billion bank, which uses Lightico’s digital solution to fully digitize its own customer-facing interactions.

“Their investment is a direct result of the positive impact Lightico’s Digital Completion Cloud has had on Capital One’s financing business,” Zviki Ben Ishay, Lightico CEO and co-founder, told Bank Automation News. The new, no-code solution allows companies to gather electronic signatures and documents, perform identity checks and verification, and accept payments via smartphone. Business customers can integrate the solution via an open API or through their own business systems, such as Salesforce.
The latest investment follows a trend of Capital One Ventures investing in the companies it uses, such as solutions from B2B payments startup Melio and data cloud company Snowflake.
“Capital One seeks to consistently provide the best possible digital experience to its customers, and Lightico has been a valuable partner in keeping Capital One Auto Finance at the forefront of our industry,” said Steve Braskamp, senior vice president in Capital One’s auto finance division.
The funds will be devoted to supporting the rollout of Lightico’s new product, as well as continued product innovation and the expansion of the fintech’s research and integrations teams, Ishay said. Lightico currently has about 110 people on staff and expects to increase that number to about 200 by next year, he added.
Lightico’s clients include financial institutions and insurance providers, including Westlake Financial, Happy State Bank, First Bank of Illinois and Indiana, Stockman Bank, BT, and MetLife.
