1. Green Sherpa was a PFM-like solution with the ability to auto-tag transactions and even predict cash flow, which is helpful for those with irregular incomes. The solution cost $7.95 a month — too much? Apparently.
2. HomeATM/AnywhereCommerce was a payments platform for eCommerce and mCommerce with its own proprietary and patented hardware. Beware of any venture that requires buying new POS hardware.
3. IOUSOS launched in early 2009. This departed startup took on the problem of unpaid medical debt. Designed to help patients manage their medical bills and hospital settle accounts, this collection service required two-way signup — both patients and hospitals had to register with the system. It seems they didn’t.
4. Looniesdesk was a platform where users could purchase custom-built financial applications from developers. The idea came from Apple’s app store, which recently reported it had 575 million users and had paid $10 billion to developers.
