Nordea Uses Biometrics Authentication to Protect Consumer Data
Norwegian bank, Nordea is replacing token passwords with biometric authentication for its employees dealing with confidential customer data.
For this, Nordea has tapped Massachusetts based-biometrics security company Veridium, according to today’s announcement.
James Stickland, CEO of Veridium, said in the statement today:
Maintaining customer, employee and company data is critical for all organizations – but especially those in the financial industry. With Veridium, Nordea will be able to take its first steps in advancing security for high privilege access and GDPR compliance.
Nordea will be using the VeridiumID platform, 4 Fingers TouchlessID and VeridiumAD, to replace tokens with biometrics for the protection of high-privileged access to confidential data, allowing the bank not just to increase security but also reduce costs.
