Norwegian Bank Nordea today unveiled a fintech-focused investment fund, and has already made its first investment in mobile payment and money transfer app Betalo.

The investment amount and size of the investment fund were not revealed.

Todays’ announcement comes after the bank launched an invoicing payment feature on Facebook Messenger yesterday.

In a statement to Finextra, Casper von Koskull, Group CEO, Nordea, said:

We want to play an active role in developing new technologies for the financial sector from early on. It’s not just about providing capital, but also about engaging with start-ups and sharing our expertise.
