Venmo Beats the Banks To Win Top Spot Among iOS Finance Apps
No matter what time of year or how the economy is, mobile app users are concerned with their credit.
How else to explain the continuing reign of Credit Karma atop the finance mobile app heap? But the real surprise may be that PayPal’s P2P app Venmo is top dog among iOS apps, ahead of the apps of the nation’s largest banks. Venmo is growing rapidly, 140% over last year, according to PayPal.
Credit Karma retained its number one slot on Google Play for top finance apps this week, with PayPal and Chase Mobile following after in second and third place.
Meanwhile for iOS, last week’s king Stash Invest now comes in at number fifteen, with Venmo taking the top spot.
For Google Play, Venmo is fifth, right behind Bank of America’s mobile app, which Chase Mobile beat for third this week. Venmo is followed by Capital One Mobile and Square Cash in seventh and eighth, with GEICO Mobile and the Western Union Money Transfer app closing out the top ten.
