© Can Stock Photo Inc. / PixelblissThe top spots in both iOS and Andoird Finance apps remained the same since my last post: Chase Mobile is No. 1 in the iOS store, while Credit Karma is No. 1 in Google Play. The No. 2 spots also remained the same, with Bank of America in the iOS Store and Chase Mobile in Google Play.

But it wasn’t all business as usual — some apps saw significant movement. Wells Fargo Mobile dropped to No. 4 in both the iOS store and Google Play. pushing PayPal down to No. 5. Capital One Mobile took both No. 6 spots. Google Wallet maintained its No. 7 spot in Google Play.

This is the first week that Navy Federal Credit Union appeared in both store rankings, taking the No. 20 spot in both. The app was last updated June 20. Progressive matched this accomplishment, taking the No. 11 spot in Google Play and No. 15 in the iOS store. The Money Network Mobile App did well for itself too, moving up a spot from No. 16 to 15 in Google Play.

This week’s dark horse comes from Google Play: Xoom Money Transfer, at No. 19. With Xoom, recently acquired by PayPal for $890 million, one can send money from the U.S. to friends and family in Latin America, the Philippines, India, China, Europe, Australia and Vietnam via smartphone. These countries represent the major remittance channels from American workers, and make it obvious why PayPal might be interested in such a service.

Another entrant to the lists is Capital One Wallet, at No. 18 on the iOS store. Capital One and Google are squaring off in the mobile wallet market, as the only two wallets on the lists.

These lists were retrieved at approximately 10 AM Eastern time from App Annie.
