Hundreds of customers of three U.K.-based banks were locked out of their internet and mobile banking apps Thursday.
Lloyds Banking Group subsidiaries Lloyds Bank, Halifax and Bank of Scotland all reported that customers were having issues logging into their accounts, according to statements posted on the banks’ websites.
“We know some of our customers are having problems logging onto Internet and Mobile Banking at the moment,” the banks posted on Twitter. “We’re sorry for this and we’re working to have it back to normal soon.”
As of noon ET, the website Downdetector had received more than 900 reports from customers saying they could not access their online banking accounts.
The banks told customers via Twitter to visit their local branch or call customer service if they had urgent banking needs.
News of the outage comes as Lloyds Banking Group announced earlier this year that it would shut down dozens of local branches as customers move increasingly online.
As of 1 p.m. ET, the banks still had not given time frame as to when they expected the lockout issues to be resolved.
