Financial institutions are looking to NCR Atleos to automate traditional transactional banking services, freeing up staff and improving customer experience.

“Clients are looking for highly available customer-facing, self-service solutions that handle a wide range of traditional bank branch transactional banking,” Neil Martin, area sales director, U.K. and Ireland, NCR Atleos, told Bank Automation News.

FIs are tapping tech for these services:

  • Deposit and withdrawal of cash;
  • Deposit of checks; and
  • Bill payment.

“By automating the transactional banking activities, this frees up branch staff time to focus on the vital relationship and service aspects of banking, whilst providing in-branch resourcing efficiencies,” the Martin said.

London-based NatWest, for one, expanded its use of self-service financial services provider NCR Atleos to improve its self-service banking platform and branch capabilities, according to a Nov. 18 release.

Using NCR Atleos, NatWest will upgrade its network of more than 5,500 ATMs and streamline branch offerings to speed up transactions and services, according to the release.

“NCR Atleos [was] the primary partner in NatWest’s last refresh of [its] self-service technology back in 2013-2014,” Martin said. “On that occasion, NCR Atleos [was] responsible for all of the hardware and installation [and] replacement program.”

NatWest is just one financial institution that has selected NCR Atleos for self-service enhancements, NCR Atleos Chief Executive Tim Oliver said during the tech provider’s third-quarter earnings call on Nov. 13.

In October, these banks selected the tech provider for self-service banking, branch modernization and ATM-as-a-Service capabilities:

  • Tompkins Community Bank, Oct. 21;
  • Bank of Hawaii, Oct. 15;
  • NuMark Credit Union, Oct. 8;
  • Corefirst Bank & Trust, Oct. 7; and
  • Ocean Bank, Oct. 1.
