Finance software provider Solifi announced this week the appointment of Mithu Bhargava as its first president.

Bhargava brings more than 20 years of operational leadership in the secured finance industry. She previously served as executive vice president at payment solutions provider NCR, where she focused on the adoption and acceleration of next-generation cloud-based platforms.
“This is an exciting time to join Solifi,” Bhargava said in a statement. “It’s an honor to help lead the industry’s most talented team who genuinely cares about delivering breakthrough technology and market-leading solutions.”
Bhargava has also held senior leadership positions at Dell EMC and Akamai Technologies. She serves as a board member for C200, a group that promotes women leaders in businesses, and as an advisory council member for the Women Business Collaborative.
Google exec joins Goldman Sachs
Goldman Sachs has nabbed former Google executive Jared Cohen to lead the new office of applied innovation at the $1.6 trillion bank. Cohen will join as a partner and management committee member, and serve as president of global affairs.

“Jared will specifically identify and advance commercial opportunities for the firm that are at the intersection of a changing global marketplace, shifts in the geopolitical landscape and rapidly evolving technology,” David Solomon, CEO at Goldman Sachs, said in a statement.
Cohen has worked at Google since 2010, serving eight years as chief advisor to former CEO Eric Schmidt; more recently he founded and led Google’s Jigsaw incubator.
Novo onboards Splitit CEO
Brad Paterson, former CEO of buy now pay later fintech Splitit, has joined digital banking platform Novo as executive vice president of business development.
“After working in the fintech world for two decades, and speaking with many Novo customers and partners, it’s clear that Novo will soon be backing millions of small businesses across the U.S.,” Paterson said in a statement.
Paterson has also served as VP of marketing and VP of global operations and expansion at Intuit; head of new ventures at PayPal; and director of consumer and emerging products at Visa.
Miami-based NOVO has raised a total of $135.5 million over eight funding rounds — including a $90 million series B in January, according to Crunchbase.
Volt recruits new VP of strategy
Open payments gateway provider Volt has recruited Stuart Barclay as its VP of strategy. In his new role, Barclay will help merchants and payment service providers find growth opportunities.
Barclay previously served as head of growth and financial services at Trustly, a Swedish open banking company. He also served as senior policy advisor in the U.K.’s cabinet open innovation team.
“Open banking is growing exponentially, with almost 60 countries developing their own instant payment schemes,” Barclay said in a statement. “Volt is building a unified gateway, adding an orchestration layer which brings order to this fragmented ecosystem.”
