Wells Fargo launched its new AI-powered digital banking platform Vantage on Monday to create a more customized banking experience for its commercial, corporate and investment clients.
Vantage allows for personalization using AI and machine learnings (ML) and is able to connect back to legacy data, Reetika Grewal, executive vice president and head of digital transformation, commercial and corporate and investment bank at $1.8 trillion Wells Fargo, told Bank Automation News. The platform was built in-house in less than a year and is hosted on an internal cloud.

“Vantage leverages APIs to drive meaningful customer experiences and enhance access, control and transparency,” Grewal said. “The new platform architecture includes micro frontends to deliver individualized … personalization that is continually refined through machine learning.”
The scalable platform is a new version of the bank’s nearly two-decade-old Commercial Electronic Officer (CEO), Grewal said, which was in need of a revamp.
“We wanted to ensure that we were grounding ourselves with a deep understanding of the range of clients and the range of problems they are looking to solve with our new platform,” she said.
The launch of Vantage follows Wells Fargo’s ongoing digital efforts including the November rollout of its same-day Flex Loan product and the October announcement of its AI-based virtual assistant Fargo.
The bank’s digital journey will continue, Grewal said, with new solutions scheduled to be rolled out next year.
