Banking core provider Finastra, Credit Suisse and Automation Anywhere announced new senior executive hires this month. Bank Automation News offers a wrap-up of some recent industry staffing shuffles.

Finastra taps Marmur to lead payments division

Financial technology and enterprise software provider Finastra has hired Oren Marmur as general manager of payments. Based in Israel, Marmur’s role will be focused on delivering end-to-end payments solutions to financial institutions and expanding Finastra’s role in helping banks modernize their products with a movement towards cloud-powered solutions.

Payments is going to be “the main growth engine of the company going forward,” Marmur told BAN. While Marmur is relatively new to the banking sector, he has previously held senior management positions with telecom firms like Mobix Wireless Solutions and ECI telecom. Marmur will report to Eli Rosner, chief product and technology officer at Finastra. Marmur’s “leadership and deep technology experience lends itself well to our vision around helping our customers to achieve digital transformation and embracing the cloud,” Rosner said in a statement announcing the appointment.

Marmur told BAN that Finastra will focus on growing its payments business in the Middle East and Asia Pacific region while working to make its platform “more generic” and easy-to-use. He added that, instead of building end-to-end solutions internally, the firm will also focus on teaming up with local payment providers that can help Finastra expand its reach in newer markets.

Credit Suisse appoints Hanaford as chief technology and operations officer

Credit Suisse announced earlier this month that former Goldman Sachs tech executive Joanne Hanaford as its new chief technology and operations officer.

Hannaford will assume her role in January 2022 in Zurich, and will report to the $941 billion bank’s CEO Thomas Gottstein. She will also become a member of the executive board.

“Technology is and will increasingly be a key success factor in financial services and with her skills, Joanne is well-positioned to lead our strategic efforts going forward,” Antonio Horta-Osorio, chairman of Credit Suisse, said in a statement announcing the appointment.

Credit Suisse Group also appointed another former senior Goldman Sachs executive, David Wildermuth, as its chief risk officer. Wildermuth, the former deputy chief risk officer at Goldman, will also join the executive board and take over from Joachim Oechslin, who held the risk role temporarily.

DiNicolantonio to lead consumer and business banking at Simmons Bank

Simmons Bank has appointed Joe DiNicolantonio as the new executive vice president and head of its consumer and business banking division.

In his most recent role, DiNicolantonio served as banking president for Atlantic Capital, where he oversaw retail and mortgage divisions in addition to commercial and private banking functions.

“Joe has a proven track record for delivering sustainable performance results and we look forward to achieving continued growth under his leadership,” Matt Reddin, chief banking officer at the $23.3 billion Simmons bank said in a statement announcing the appointment.

Automation Anywhere appoints new chief information officer

Robotic process automation vendor Automation Anywhere has tapped Sumit Johar as its new chief information officer.

Johar earlier served as CIO at software firm MobileIron; prior to that, he led enterprise applications at TIBCO Software, and held management positions at software firms Wipro Technologies and Infosys.

“As the internal ‘first customer’ for Automation Anywhere’s cloud-native RPA platform, I am eager to use the platform to automate manual, repetitive tasks at Automation Anywhere, and free our employees to solve more creative, higher-order business challenges,” Johar said in a statement.

Johar will leading and oversee strategy and operations of Automation Anywhere’s IT department globally and will also provide strategic IT leadership and direction to all business units and functions, Automation Anywhere noted in its statement.
