Wells Fargo‘s Wealth & Investment Management business has hired former Google AI leader Andre Mansour to lead its AI initiatives.

“I’ll be focused on shaping our AI roadmap, specifically how we use AI to better support advisers, further refine the client experience and strengthen our platform,” Mansour said. “In the near term, that means advancing practical use cases like knowledge retrieval, meeting copilots and compliance supervision — areas where we can quickly save time and simplify processes.”

Mansour joined WIM on May 11 and reports to Evelyn Varner, Chief Product Officer at WIM.

At Google, Mansour led generative AI initiatives for capital markets, investment banking and asset management clients, according to his LinkedIn profile.

He also is tasked with partnering with WIM and enterprise teams to deploy AI responsibly so that it makes a real difference for financial advisers and their teams, a Wells Fargo spokesperson told FinAi News.

The hire reflects WIM’s adviser-centric approach to AI, which centers on combining AI-driven insights with adviser expertise to scale advice — helping advisers serve more clients more effectively and grow their practices, the spokesperson said.

It also follows the recent debut of Advisor Gateway, WIM’s AI-powered platform built on a roughly $1 billion technology investment, according to FinAi News reporting.

FIs hiring tech talent

Mansour’s appointment is the latest in a wave of senior AI hires at Wells Fargo.

In January, the bank named former Amazon Web Services leader Faraz Shafiq as head of AI products and solutions.

Andre’s hiring demonstrates that WIM is interested in bringing in talent from big tech as long as they complement the bank’s AI ambitions, the spokesperson said.

“Andre brings a unique mix of deep financial services experience and hands-on AI leadership that’s well suited for this position and where WIM is headed — from promise to practical impact,” the spokesperson said.

Citi in March appointed Brian Saluzzo, who spent nearly four years as VP of core developer engineering and product management at Google, as CIO.

And Varo Bank hired Asmau Ahmed as its chief data and AI officer in 2025. Prior to joining Varo, Ahmed worked as a non-executive director at autonomous automotive tech providing company Pony.ai.
